First of the Season
Snowdrops show up in my paintings every year as they are first blooms to pop un in the yard, usually much sooner than I expect them. One of the beauties of living in Victoria is that we do have flowers in January!
I started by putting them in a tiny vase and doing them as a still life but I was not feeling it, so I changed gears, wiped the board and ended up with this soft beautiful gold colour that became the background of this painting. You can actually see the initial sketch before the change. I forgot to start the camera for the drawing part of version 2. I wanted to just play like I had in the sketchbook two days ago by turning the flowers and getting different views of them. I’m happy with what happened,
