One of the things I love the most about our west coast are the arbutus trees, or madronas for those in the states. The orange-red contorted trunks just jump at you in the landscape, especially when we are on the boat looking back at the coastline. They often have fascinating shapes as they hang over the edge. The layers of colour in them are incredible sometimes when they start shedding the bark. This shedding stage was not too nice when the arbutus was in my one backyard in my old house. They actually shed the whole year: flowers, fruit, leaves and bark according to the season. You may understand why I much prefer to see them in the distance!!

  • 8 x 8 x 1.5

  • Oil on Cradled Panel

  • Edges are finished in varnished natural wood

  • Unframed - Ready to hang or sit on a shelf

  • Fits a wide variety of standard North American sized ready-made frames (frame is not included)

  • Shipping Included in Canada & US.
